@buffyboo8 Have you seen the T.V. Miniseries remake starring Rob Lowe, Donald Sutherland, and Rutger Hauer? It is FANTASTIC.

not gonna lie, I cried like a little girl when I watched this as a kid.
10th Doctor
Not scary at all good though
A.B.
Shouldnt the fluid bottles have been plastic? Perhaps the filmmakers thought it would look more dramatic to make them glass so they would break.
Aaron Kush
Mr. Barlow rocks! No cute teen crap here! Love this movie!
Andrew Joseph Hasty
As you know that Count Dracula is a vampire in Translvania.

The eyes still creep me out. All that was missing was Marjorie Glick's scene in the morticians chamber. That was scary as shit.
Darrin Hammond
That jail house scene is do chilling an horror of dudes face when he saw the vampire still makes my hair stand up.
Durins Bane
See Folks. Non of that handsome devil, gentlemanly debonair lost soul clap trap.\nBarlowe's the real deal. Hes a dyed (blood)in the wool, blood lusting, full on vampiristic savage demon....and proud of it !
Ezekiel Major
This looks so cheesy now. I was terrified as a young kid when I first saw this scene. Would never leave my shades open afterwards.

So , the movie was produced in 1979 , eh ? so I saw that poster when I was eight years old . Now I'm 42/43 and I watched it for the first time minutes ago and geez ! Scares the hell out of me !

as a kid, nothing scared me more than the Exorcist, until I saw this movie, especially this scene, had nightmares for days after seeing that vampire-kid hovering in the window like that LOL
Sandy Y.
One of the best horror films, even these many years later.   Horrific scenes one right after the other scared me witless, especially the vampire guy in the rocking chair...  \
Shannon Wilson
This is the scene that did it in for me as a kid.
Sheri Bidlespacher
My breaking point was the mother rising up in the morgue, and Ben dispatching of her with his homemade cross. Got so scared I held my breath, didn't realize it til the commercial right after that scene when I gasped for air. Glad I was watching on TV not in theatre, probably would have been carried out

classic.
The Golden Knight
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SCARRY MOVIE FOR ME, TO-DATE! NEXT TO THE EXORCIST BUT THIS MOVIE HAD NOTHING BUT SERIOUSLY SCARY SCENES, ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER. I WAS TRAUMATIZED FOR EVEN SEVERAL YEARS GROWING UP BECAUSE OF THIS MOVIE. I WAS AROUND NINE WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS MOVIE.
Tripp
AWESOME MOVIE
Van PastorMan
Did you get the idea that vampires can change the weather? How can a new vampire kid change the weather so he can get a snack?
Wicked Dweller
That ending scared the shit out of me..fuck!
Willissa Butler

asia911
Saw this back in '79 and '80 as a kid and it scare the living hell out of me for weeks.  Yeah watch it twice and I don't remember why.  Took 20 yrs for me to get over the brother scene scratching on the window.  Now after seeing this again 30 yrs later I'm laughing at how silly it is.
buffyboo8
They should do a remake on this movie. Wouldn't it be cool with today special effect .\n
ericamichelle99
The scene in the hospital when the nurse finds the Glick boy's body all twisted up and dead scared the crap out of me because I was definitely not expecting that.
gina busateri
I read this book back in the earlier 70's before the movie came out. It scared this heck out of me. Once it was put into a movie, of tv, it was shown at different nights, until the finish. I just couldn't wai tfor the next episode. I love David Soul and Lance Kerwin working together, to hunt down James Mason and Reggie Nalder. After I saw the first scene in this video it scared me to death. I wouldn't sit infront of a window unless the drapes were drawn. This is Stephen King's best book- movie.
james ware
I was 12 when it came out. I saw it with my best friend and his brother who was 18, we got in with him. I slept with the nightlight on for 2 weeks LOL. Scared the crap out me! My parents told me not to go, but of course at 12 who listens to their parents, let me tell you, after that I listened to what they said, well, at least till I was 13 haha. Im 47 now and it still makes me jumpy. Definitely the best vampire movie ever made, Bram Stokers Dracula is a close second, but this one set the bar!
jennifer hunter
This looks stupid
julie Wallis
I’ve never seen this movie. I’m trying to find it though.
lesley osler
I love this movie !!!!!!!! ( scratching on the window and the music ) frightened the life out ov me love it
memnok magee
can't a light be made that mimics sunlight so you can kill them with a flashlight? also the b.s. about a crucifix gives the religious nuts far too much credibility
mikejessmax
Don't know why they used the nasty ass monster as Kurt Barlow when he was just like an ordinary man in the book.
mysticblake Blake
Anytime anyone went to bed in Salem’s lot you knew...just I dunno..you ‘just’ knew you would be scared absolutely shitified!
ooomd
I am so glad I just saw this the very first time today, I am 29. Thank god.
orlandotj1
This was a two-part tv movie, I believe, based on the Steven King book.
peloquin
I First saw this movie in the early 80s when I was a kid. (My parents allowed me to watch it). It scared the hell out of me back then, and in a way still gives me the creeps now.  Definitely one of the best vampire movies around.
ransom reville
I read this book last year and loved it. Been trying for a while to find this mini series, but without paying for it. Give me a break, I'm poor. Can't find it.
rbryant100
Couldn’t sleep for nights when I was a kid thanks to this series. I was terrified of the floating kid at the window, and of course Mr Barlow
serchu taki
haha those actors were terrible
splinterbyrd
How come people in these situations always have a private hospital room?
sskoog
Though the sets, wardrobe, and (some of the) dialogue are showing their age, this film still packs a punch.  Both Ralphie Glick scenes, the Danny Glick scene, the Mike Ryerson scene, and at least one of the Barlow scenes -- that's like 20-25 minutes of solid horror.\n\nUnquestionably the most terrifying film of the 1970s.  (Only The Exorcist and The Shining come close, and that second one technically came out in 1980.)  Still arguably in the top five or ten frightening films of all time.
steven paul dempster
Dose anybody know how to watch the full film on youtube. All is see are different parts of the film not the whole film the 1979 one.
suzycreamcheesez
